My Story

At the age of 44 my OGYN informed me that my endometriosis had turned into cancer and that I need to have a hysterectomy as soon as possible. She called my classroom phone on a Monday so I got this news in front of my sweet little second graders. She said "I have an opening for surgery this Friday."  I told her this was way too much information to process and that I needed time to think and pray about this decision. Needless to say, I needed to step out of the classroom for a moment to process this information, so I asked a teacher down the hall to watch my students while I went to the break room to call my husband.

Long story short, I let fear lead my decision and I had the hysterectomy. Mostly because my mom had been down this same road and I was afraid of that dreaded word "cancer."

When I asked my OBGYN's collage, who did my pre-surgery consult, if the surgery would affect my intimacy with my husband he said, "No, you'll be fine. It won't affect your sex life." Well, I am here to tell you that having a hysterectomy DOES change things.

During my recovery I started studying natural ways to support the body. Many years ago when my sons were pre-school age I wanted to go back to school to become a Naturopath, but money was tight. Finally, in December of 2013 I began my schooling at Trinity School of Natural Health and obtained several certifications:

Ordained Minister, Universal Life Church - 2014

Certificate in Nutritional Counseling - April, 2016

Certified Health Specialist - May, 2016

Certified Natural Health Professional - July, 2017

Certified Emotion Code Practitioner - February 2018

Doctor of Naturopathy - December, 2018

Certified Body Code Practitioner - August, 2021

RBTI Lifestyle Certificate Program - March 2022

Certified SHAPE ReClaimed Professional - March 2023

Helping women is my passion. If you are having trouble sleeping, experiencing low energy, pain, anxiety and brain fog and have already exhausted conventional approaches to improving your health, then let's talk. I've been there and have ways to help.
